2007 "Music Scholar" for the Smithsonian traveling exhibit "New Harmonies:
Celebrating America's Roots Music": Organized an interactive jazz lecture and performance sponsored by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities

David W. Hansen has performed a number of jazz history clinics and lectures.

The lectures and clinics have entailed Mr. Hansen providing a discussion (lecture) in the classroom as well as interactive lectures where there is discussions and percussion demonstrations.

A favorite clinic/lecture Mr. Hansen enjoys providing includes a full six member New Orleans jazz band where discussion, demonstration, performance and student/guest sit in sessions take place.
