Irreplaceable - collected over 20+ years from around the world
FYI; Homeowner's insurance doesn't cover musical instruments for
professional use and the insurance offered through the Musicians Union
is $400.00 per year for one drum set! Replacement or basic coverage on
$35,000.00 worth of professional equipment is too costly. - C'est la
vie! Let's move on. |

patrol.

Vintage Sonor drums are in the black vulcanized cases
All drums are saturated and full of brackish water. |

Saved!!!
Cymbals may not look great but they still sound incredible!
I did have to clean them with Zildjian Cymbal cleaner ...
something I never wanted to do to my cymbals! |

Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute - Saved!!! Incredible drums.
Cut heads away and drained all the water but left hoops in place.
Brought in water and bleach to clean anything I could salvage.
(Six large garbage containers+ full of water in the back of the U-Haul)
Hand washed in 1/3 bleach solution then rinsed in the kiddy pool.
Sat in back yard for one month as I couldn't throw them away.
Moved to climate controlled storage for two months.
Then, spent three solid days scrubbing, brushing ... cleaning.
Painted all nuts, screws with rust converter (oxidized and turned black)
Replaced all heads. They sound ... and look great!!!
Inside of lug casings will rust and buzz eventually ...
until then I at least have one good drum set. |
