2005-09-28 cymbals Saved!!! These cymbals may not look great but they still sound incredible! I had to clean them with Zildjian Cymbal cleaner ... something I never wanted to do to my cymbals! They include a Zildjian Istanbul K from ca. 1920's, Zildjian USA K, Zildjian Canada, Sabian and Istanbul Agop cymbals.	September 28, 2005 Gut, Salvage, Throw away Drum Studio Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute - Saved!!! Incredible drums. Cut heads away and drained all the water but left hoops in place. Brought in water and bleach to clean anything I could salvage. (Six large garbage containers+ full of water in the back of the U-Haul) Hand washed in 1/3 bleach solution then rinsed in the kiddy pool. Sat in back yard for one month as I couldn't throw them away. Moved to climate controlled storage for two months. Then, spent three solid days scrubbing, brushing ... cleaning. Painted all nuts, screws with rust converter (oxidized and turned black) Replaced all heads. They sound ... and look great!!! Inside of lug casings will rust and buzz eventually ... until then I at least have one good drum set. Friends and colleagues kept asking me to contact Yamaha and in March 1998 I sent in my story to Bob Malone ... here's what happened!
